About
We are confronting the problem of pornography with a distinctly relational form of accountability that connects people who want to quit porn with others who can help them achieve lasting victory.
This has been a very gratifying chapter in my career, helping me to see the potential of design to drive life-changing results. Just as I had hoped when I joined CE, we're using technology to "redeem" itself, in a way. The stakes are enormously high, making it both a privilege and a heavy weight to carry.

Roles
Senior Product Designer (Information Architect)
Mar 2024 - Present ()- Served as a design consultant to product and engineering teams, reviewing in-progress work, clarifying structural issues, and helping teams resolve IA and interaction decisions independently.
- Led cross-product alignment initiative using conceptual modeling and IA, reducing semantic drift across teams and establishing a strong foundation for future feature work.
- Defined strategic approach for notification system overhaul, mapping events to notifications and standardizing cross-channel representations (email, push, in-app), reducing ambiguity for users while enabling scalable notification preferences.
- Upgraded “conversations” from an experimental add-on to a first-class private messaging feature, redesigning app navigation and fine-tuning interactions to make it a viable alternative to mainstream messaging services.
- Facilitated cross-functional alignment on “check-ins” feature by conducting stakeholder interviews, creating visual models, and guiding team to explicit consensus on foundational concepts before implementation, which prevented downstream decision churn.
- Influenced brand architecture decision for a high-profile app name change, providing IA perspective on structural implications and tradeoffs across our suite of products.
- Established conceptual modeling practice using Object-Oriented UX methodology, introducing and evangelizing approach across organization.

- Led 4-session workshop series teaching semantic interaction design and grammar mapping to design team.
About
What began as a scrappy startup of 2 dozen people when I joined (as their first design hire) had grown to become an innovative new division of 200+ by the time I left in 2018.
We started off with software that helped professional contractors specify and order custom roof trusses, which was a notoriously difficult and error-prone product line.
In 2014, we began building a comprehensive, searchable catalog of special-order products. This was the first time in-store sales associates could look up pricing without referring to printed price sheets or picking up the phone.
That became a powerful estimation and quoting platform that helped Home Depot gain marketshare with pro contractors. It was rolled out to over 2,000 Home Depot stores in the U.S. and, in 2017, processed $5.7b in quotes and $1.4m in sales.

Internship → Contractor
About
I took an internship in the creative department of a publisher and retailer in San Antonio, TX. After 11 months, it turned into full-time work. During this time I learned a lot about the production of books, catalogs, and other products. It also exposed me to what it was like to design in the context of a real world business. (I also credit this job with my mastery over Photoshop keyboard shortcuts!)
